What are these songs about?

I say that you can interpret my songs and make them be about whatever it invokes in you, but here's a little bit about what inspired me as a songwriter:

The Still Waters title is taken from Psalm 23:2 "He leads me beside still waters, he restores my soul", which is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. I think that no matter what your gender, race, sexual orientation, spiritual beliefs, or religion, God wants you to have peace in your life and will guide you on that path (if you let Him). This album is about my journey to find "still waters" through music.

"Keep Faith (instrumental version)" is a spiritually inspired song, that no matter what happens in life, to try and remember to "keep faith" and trust that God has a plan for us. I have a version with lyrics that will be on my next album.

"The Haunted" is about those things in our past that continue to bother or "haunt" us. It is sometimes hard to let go of things that we wish we'd done differently or things that were beyond our control that we wish we could have changed.

"Flight of the Pelican" is exactly what the title says it is, have you ever watched a pelican fly or crash into the water to catch a fish? Their flight is very majestic, peaceful, and mesmerizing. I love watching them. When I play that song, I imagine what it would be like to fly, gliding just above the water at sunset.

"A Gray Day" is about my growing up in the Washington D.C. area. It always seemed (at least to me), that a majority of the time, the sky in that area is some shade of gray (hazy, cloudy, or overcast). That was my perception anyways (true or not), and I always thought it a sad, lonely place to live (and a good analogy of how that area makes me feel).

"Don't Be Afraid (instrumental version)"
is about dying and our transition from this life to the next. I have a version with lyrics that will be on my next album.
